Creating your own PowerPoint presentation
Objective:
- Use prior knowledge of Basic PowerPoint skills to create a presentation on an intriguing question of your choice. These include but are not limited to: Creating your title slide, Adding new slides, Using Themes, Adding bulleted text, Changing slide layouts, Inserting clip art and images, Slide designs, colors and backgrounds, Basic animations and transitions.
- Understand the role of slides within the presentation
- Understand the “less is more” concept for PowerPoint
- Use features that maximize effectiveness
Ask yourself these questions when creating your powerpoint:
What is the presentation: me or the powerpoint? (HINT:Remember that the PowerPoint is just a visual aid)
Do they add or detract from my message? Do my pictures, transitions, and animations add value to my presentation?
You will be presenting these presentations when we return from vacation!
Here are the specifications:
- Title slide with your Question and your name.
- 4-6 content slides with information and pictures. Don’t put all your information on the slide. I don’t want you reading your presentation . Highlight main points and then expand your thoughts in your presentation. You can type these in the notes section of Powerpoint.
- Add transitions between your slides
- Add at least 2 entrance animations, 2 emphasis animations and 2 exit animations throughout your powerpoint presentation.
- Works cited page, use easybib.com to help you create the bibliography.
